Present: Maguire, Eurich, Ahrens, Hall, Adams   
Absent: Farnum, Prusi
Guests: Police Chief James Sherrod, Tim Burnside, Will Wielen, Steve Young, Adam Sayles, Donnie Englehart, Brennan Englehart, Fern Young, Mary Drier
 
 
 
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President Maguire.
 
Motion Ahrens second Adams to accept the August 17, 2009 regular meeting minutes as printed.    Carried.
 
The 2008-09 audit report was presented by David Quimby and John Neeb, CPA’s for Weinlander Fitzhugh.
 
Fire Captain Adam Sayles reported that there was 1 run for August and that 5 firefighters would be attending firefighter I classes this fall.
 
Police Chief Sherrod presented his department’s statistics for August and reported that Labor Day weekend activity went very well.
 
Motion Eurich second Ahrens to replace the pump at the Circle Drive sewer pumping station for $5,439 plus labor installation by Hydrodynamics, Inc.    Carried.
 
Motion Eurich second Hall to approve the quote for sidewalk replacement from Henry Jaster Construction for Phase I – on the north side of the municipal building for $6,646 and Phase III – various patches throughout the village for $898.    3 Yea    2 Nay    Defeated.
 
The clerk reported that the Zoning Board of Appeals approved a variance request for a mobile home placement at 5174 W. Center Street.
 
Correspondence was received from Tuscola County Commissioner Amanda Roggenbuck informing of the commissioner’s meeting at the Gilford Township Hall on October 27, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. and providing a Food & Farm Map of the area.
 
The clerk asked for a clarification of payment for firefighter physicals. The council informed her that when a firefighter chooses to have a physical performed by their own physician the village is not responsible for the cost if it is not covered by their insurance.
 
Motion Adams second Ahrens to pay bills of approximately $11,328.63.    4 Yea    1 Nay    Carried.
