President Maguire called the July 11, 2011 Fairgrove Village Council to order at 7:00 p.m. Leen/Hall made a motion to accept the Fairgrove Village Council minutes dated June 6, 2011. 4 ayes. Motion Carried.

Department/Committee Reports:
Fire: Chief Young reported the fire calls runs for month of June. He reported that the Fire Department is going to borrow a fire truck from Caro when their fire truck is in for repairs. Young also reported that FEMA grants are again coming out, he is going to write for one for the Fire Truck. Also, he reminded everyone to vote on August 2nd, Fairgrove Township is putting a ½ mil on for Fire Protection. Leen questioned if all of the chemicals that are in Laethem’s Building could be spread throughout all of the farmers, she would be willing to speak with Michigan Sugar and some of the farmers. Young stated that he is having a meeting with P. Finn from Emergency Mgmt and will let her know. Also, he would like to set up Fire Committee Meeting to discuss Fire Call Charges. 
 
DPW: Maguire discussed that the sewer station alarm keeps going off. Having major issues with the sewer stations. Pumps are going to have to be worked on. The cab for the John Deere tractor is in; will get installed this week.
 
Police: Hall/Leen made a motion to accept the Village of Akron’s Proposed Police Contract, contracting with them for 8 months. 4 ayes. Motion Carried.
 
New Business
Hall/Gehrls made a motion to approve Investment Policy. 4 ayes. Motion Carried.
 
Hall/Gehrls made a motion to purchase lights for the Fire Department Truck at a cost of $688.00. 4 ayes. Motion Carried.
 
 
 
Scott Dickinson from Republic Underwriters discussed group accident insurance for the Fire Department at a cost of $723.69 annually. Leen/Gehrls made a motion to approve payment to Starr Indemnity and Liability Company in the amount of $723.69 for Fire Department group accident insurance. 4 ayes. Motion Carried.
 
Leen/Hall made a motion to purchase signs for the park stating “Dangerous Falling Trees, Park Closed”. (Village to check with attorney regarding correct wording). 4 ayes. Motion Carried.
 
Leen/Gehrls made a motion to decline the purchase of L. Howell Property located to the east of the Village Building. 4 ayes. Motion Carried.
 
Leen/Hall made a motion to Council pay to remain at $35.00 per meeting. 4 ayes. Motion Carried.
 
Leen/Maguire made a motion to allow Dennis & Toni Hadeway to put 86.75 acres for 90 years into PA 116, property located on Shreeves Road – Section 16. 4 ayes. Motion Carried.
 
Hall/Maguire made a motion to allow Dennis & Toni Hadeway to put 25.8 acres for 90 years into PA 116, property located in Section 17. 4 ayes. Motion Carried.
 
Leen/Gehrls made a motion to allow Dennis & Toni Hadeway to put 17.92 acres for 90 years into PA 116, property located in Section 16. 4 ayes. Motion Carried.
 
Old Business
Clerk reported that the audit with Anderson Tuckey went well. They will report their findings at the August Council Meeting.
 
Finances:
Hall/Leen made a motion to approve July disbursements. 4 ayes. Motion Carried.
 
As there was no other business, meeting adjourned. The next Fairgrove Village Council Meeting is August 1, 2011 at 7 p.m.
