NOVEMBER 5, 2007
 
 
Present: Maguire, Eurich, Prusi, Wassa, Adams
Absent:  Farnum

The meeting was called to order at 7:36 p.m. by President Maguire.
 
Motion Prusi second Eurich to accept the October 1, 2007 regular meeting minutes as printed.    Carried.
 
Rob Butts introduced himself as the owner of 2054 Main Street. He asked the council for permission to install a clock on the outside of his building. He was referred to the zoning administrator.
 
Fire Chief Young reported that the department had 4 runs and 4 assists for October.  
 
Police Chief Wassa stated that the patrol car light bar was removed at no cost to the village.
 
Street Administrator Eurich reported that the guard rail was installed at the Slack Road bridge.
 
Planning Commission Chair Adams stated that a meeting will be held in January to discuss various issues of the Zoning Ordinance.
 
Correspondence was received from Village Treasurer Karen Adams stating that she would be resigning at the end of the fiscal year.
 
Motion Eurich second Prusi to accept the resignation of Karen Adams as village treasurer  effective March 31, 2008.    Carried.
 
The clerk reported that there would be no additional insurance premium if the fire department chose to become medical first responders.
 
The council instructed the clerk to place ads for 2017 Main Street demolition bids in the Tuscola County Advertiser requiring that these bids be submitted by November 30, 2007.
 
Motion Prusi second Adams to return to having the council meet only the first Monday of each month with pay of $50 for attendance.    2 Yea    3 Nay.    Defeated.
 
The clerk asked for clarification of a motion at last month’s meeting regarding payroll for Wally Prusi and whether that motion created two separate positions of Zoning Administrator and Zoning Enforcer. Adams stated that it was not the council’s intent to separate the positions.
 
Motion Adams second Wassa to pay bills of approximately $28,664.86.    Carried.
